Chengdu rail transit line 9 runs through the tunnel

In the early morning of July 30, 2019, with the roar of the cutter head of "endeavour 4" shield tunneling machine, the shield tunneling machine of chengdu west station -- huangtianba station of chengdu rail transit line 9 broke through the earth at the receiving end, marking the "tunnel access" of the whole line.

The chengdu rail transit line 9 project is the first fully automatic driverless rail transit line in chengdu, and the first driverless subway line in western China. The line is located between the third and fourth rings of chengdu city, which has the characteristics of long line, many transfer nodes, large distance between stations and high speed target value. As a subway express line with a design speed of 140km/ h, it has made innovations and explorations in functional positioning, financing mode, application of new technology, large-shield tunneling construction in water-rich sand and pebble stratum, and PPP project construction and management.

The first phase of line 9 project will be laid clockwise from sanse road station to huangtianba station. The total length of the line is 22.18 kilometers, all of which are underground lines. There are 13 stations in total, including 11 transfer stations.

In order to ensure the timely realization of the key node target of the whole tunnel, 25 shield tunneling machines were put into the whole line, among which 22 shield tunneling machines with cutter head diameter of 6980mm were used for the first time, which was the first model used in the history of chengdu rail transit construction. In particular, the shield tunnel section from sanseilu station to xindao station took 60 days to cross jinjiang river under the conditions of 7.6 meters of buried depth, 376 meters of sand, pebble-mudstone composite stratum, high safety risk of water and sand gushing, tunneling gushing and other high-risk conditions.

The "tunnel access" of the first phase of line 9 will lay a solid foundation for the "rail access" of the line, and create powerful conditions for the follow-up "dentsu", "car access" and joint test of unmanned driving.
