Sichuan Chengdu Metro Line 6 runs through nearly 70 kilometers

Chengdu metro line 6, the longest underground subway line in China's western region, was completed Monday morning as the first phase of the project was completed.

At 11:30 a.m., as the last shield tunneling machine in the first and second phase of chengdu metro line 6 project successfully emerged, the whole line was "tunneled". In addition to the previous phase 3 project of line 6, the longest underground subway line in western China was officially completed.

The first phase of line 6 of "dongtong" is the second phase construction planning project of chengdu rail transit, with a total length of 47.4 kilometers and 38 stations. It is expected to be put into trial operation before the end of 2020. The completion of the first and second phase of the project also marks the complete completion of the 515km shield tunneling task planned for the first three phases of chengdu metro.

Chengdu rail transit has built and opened 7 lines in total, a total of 239 kilometers, with the average daily passenger flow exceeding 4 million times, the highest daily passenger flow reaching 4.902 million times, and the share rate of public transportation reaching 50%. According to the plan, by 2022, the length of subway in operation will reach over 600 kilometers, basically forming a half-hour rail transit commuter circle.
