Suzhou Rail line 6 double excavation, opening time set

On the morning of June 16th, the shield tunneling machine "Gongfu 2" smashed the ground and set off smoothly at the right line of Jinchu Street Station. This marks the realization of dual tunneling of Suzhou Metro Line 6, which speeds up the tunneling of shield of Line 6 again.

Jinchu Street station is located at the intersection of Huchi Road and Jinchu Street. It is the first station for the construction of Line 6, the first foundation pit excavation and the first main structure construction. The shield tunnel on the right line has a total length of 579 meters. Shield construction is adopted and is expected to be completed by the end of August.

During shield construction, the construction side will use the shield remote monitoring system to implement 24-hour uninterrupted monitoring, real-time measurement of ground settlement, and strict control of driving parameters to ensure the safe and smooth advance of the shield machine.

Line 6 starts from Suzhou New District station and ends at Xinqing Road Station, with a total length of 35km. There are 30 underground stations, including 11 transfer stations, with an average station distance of 1.20km. Rail transit Line 6, connecting the high-tech zone, the ancient city and the industrial park, strengthens the connection between the east and west sides of Jinji Lake, and is an important passenger flow channel for the city to pass through the ancient city and Jinji Lake from east to west. Line 6 is scheduled to open in June 2024.
