The supporting transportation plan for the construction of Pudong Airport Station of Shanghai Airport liaison line has been announced
According to the Shanghai Municipal Public Security Bureau traffic Police Headquarters, the airport liaison line pudong Airport Station is scheduled to start construction on the evening of August 21, 2020, with a total construction period of about three years.
The whole airport contact line is 68.6 kilometers from Hongqiao Airport station to Shanghai East Station, with 9 stations on the whole line. Pudong Airport Station will be implemented first. Airport Contact Line Pudong Airport Station is located under S1 Yingbin Avenue (between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2), with north-south configuration. The station is designed as a two-storey underground station, which can be transferred to the existing rail transit and airport terminal after completion. The project is scheduled to start on the evening of August 21, 2020, and is expected to be completed in July 2023, with a total construction period of about 3 years.
During the construction period, yingbin Avenue S1 (the section between Terminal T1 and Terminal T2) will be completely closed from north to south, with a length of about 1km. Vehicles heading to Terminal 1 will not be affected. Vehicles going to Terminal 2 are bypassed by using a new temporary footpath built above the landscape pool and on the roof of the P1 garage. The bypass line is maintained in the size of three lanes (the same as the number of north entrance lanes), while an emergency lane is installed on the roof of the P1 garage.
A height restriction gantry is set up before the construction ramp. All vehicles over 3.8 meters in height (including T1 and T2 arriving and departing) are diverted from the P4 long hour parking ramp to the short barge center next to the long hour parking garage.
