Jiaozhou Bay undersea Tunnel of Qingdao Metro Line 1 is the deepest undersea tunnel in China, the first cross-sea subway in mainland China, and the longest subway tunnel in China that runs through the most fault rupture zones. The tunnel's longitudinal slope is shaped like a "V", and its deepest point is about 88 meters from the sea level. The water pressure above the tunnel is at least 8.8 kilograms per square centimeter, which is equivalent to the pressure of 300 cars per extended meter of the tunnel.

The second section of The Wagui section is 3.33 kilometers long, with 1857 meters of sea area and 1474 meters of land area. The tunnel is about 150 meters east of the existing Jiaozhou Bay Highway tunnel. It starts from Huawuzhuang Station in Xuejajao, new District of The West Coast, goes through the sea area at the mouth of Jiaozhou Bay, and then reaches Guizhou Road station via Tuandao. It is the most important control project of Qingdao Metro Line 1.
