On September 29, The Great Wall, China's largest diameter mud-water balancing shield, rolled off the production line at Zhongjiao Tianhe in Changshu. As the 9th super large diameter shield machine independently developed by CCT, the "Great Wall" will be used in the tunnel construction of Beijing East sixth Ring Road Project.

The shield section of the tunnel is 7.4 kilometers long, which is the longest underground highway tunnel in China. The outside diameter of the formed tunnel is 15.5 meters, which is the largest shield tunnel in China at present. During the construction, "Great Wall" has to go through the core area of Beijing's sub-central city. The underground pipeline structures are complex and difficult to implement, so it has to go under or over several roads, tracks and rivers. The average earth covering depth of the shield tunneling machine is 20 meters, and the earth covering depth is up to 45 meters. CCCC Tianhe has carried out specialized and intelligent targeted design for the "Great Wall" shield machine, and applied many advanced technologies that are fully independently developed and pioneered in the world, realizing the perfect combination of bulk and intelligence, marking the end of the era when the construction of China's super-large diameter shield tunnel relies on foreign brands.

In addition, the "Great Wall" for the first time adopts the world's first long-distance driving technology developed by China without changing the knife, which can realize the continuous driving of 4,800 meters without changing the knife. It is the first time in the world to apply optical fiber wear detection technology to the detection of shield cutting tools. According to the real-time detection data, operators can find and analyze the causes of tool wear in a timely manner, adjust the parameters of shield driving in a timely manner, and improve the service life and driving efficiency of the cutting tools. At the same time, the project also applies China's independent research and development of automatic pipe piece assembly technology, intelligent remote security monitoring and management system and other advanced technologies and equipment in the world, which not only reduces the manufacturing cost, but also firmly holds the core technology in its own hands.
