Recently, the east extension section of Line 5 and Line 10, two new subway lines under construction in Guangzhou, entered the major project node. The first shield tunneling machine of the two lines respectively started and entered the interval tunnel construction stage.

The east extension section of Line 5 is 9.8 kilometers long and consists of 6 stations, extending from the existing Wenchong Station eastward to Huangpu Passenger port station. It will realize the fast connection between Huangpu Development Zone and the central urban area, further optimize the role of the existing Line 5 as an important transportation line in the central urban area of Guangzhou, and promote the realization of the "eastward advance" strategy of the city.

It is reported that although the first shield tunneling machine of the east extension section of Line 5 has been successfully launched, the construction of the line is still facing many difficulties, such as the complex surrounding environment, many risk sources along the line, complex and variable geological conditions, and a large number of pipeline relocation and transformation, which have brought high challenges to the construction management and control.

At the same time "Xi Ti" the first shield machine and line 10. Line 10 is about 19.15 kilometers long, with 14 stations and a maximum speed of 80 kilometers per hour. After completion, it will be connected with the tianhe passenger station of Line 3 to Shipai Bridge and run through the four central urban areas of Tianhe, Yuexiu, Liwan and Haizhu. It is a truly "encrypted line" of rail transit in the central urban area.

Up to now, the civil engineering of the east extension of Line 5 has been completed by a total of 7%. Among the 6 stations, 4 are under civil construction and 2 are in pre-construction preparation. Among the 6 sections, 3 are for civil construction and 3 are for pre-construction preparation; A total of 8% of the civil engineering works of Line 10 have been completed.
