Railway Chongming line has a new progress

Recently, tunnel shares Shanghai Tunnel won 108 bids and 111 bids for Chongming line. Among them, the 108 standard mainly includes the South Changxing Island working shaft and the Nangang section tunnel, which means that a long tunnel will be built under the Yangtze River as the cross-river passage of the Chongming line. The rail transit chongming line, about 43 kilometers long, connects the central city and chongming island, starting from jinqiao in pudong, passing by changxing island, and ending at chongming chengjia town. Through connecting the main towns of Chongming along the line and the important functional groups of Pudong area, it will be connected to the central urban rail network, so as to promote the linkage development between Chongming and Changxing islands and the rapid connection with the urban area.

According to Shanghai Tunnel Co., Ltd., the Nangang section of the 108 project is 7.7 kilometers long and is planned to be constructed by a 13.5-meter diameter shield machine, which will start from the Changxing Island South working shaft, cross the Yangtze River Nangang waters, and receive it from the Pudong working shaft. The tunnel is a single hole and double line tunnel, that is, the upstream and downstream lines run in a large diameter tunnel. The construction will also face many challenges and tests, such as going down the Yangtze River embankment and underground obstacles, excavating the river bottom for a long distance, shield tunneling in and out of the tunnel with shallow soil and simultaneous construction of the internal structure with single tunnel and double line. The construction of Dongtan Station on Chongming Line has already started. According to the plan, the cross-river passage of the Chongming Line is located on the east side of the existing Shanghai Yangtze River Tunnel and Bridge, and its direction is basically the same as that of the Shanghai Yangtze River Tunnel and Bridge. As the third round of Shanghai urban rail transit construction planning (2018-2023), "one of the rail transit line area, chongming line from Kim keat road station, walk along Kim keat road, ShenJiang road, global group, dong jing road, Yangtze estuary nangang to changxing island, then through the port of the Yangtze river estuary to chongming island, along the ecological way, and the terminal station in yulin, this makes the chongming line of Shanghai metro for the first time in the form of the underground line twice crossing the Yangtze river estuary.

It is planned to set up 8 stations, which are Jinji Road Station, Shenjiang Road Station, Gaobao Road Station, Lingkang North Road Station, Changxing Island Station, Chenjiazhen Station, Dongtan Station and Yu 'an Station (the last 6 stations are tentatively named). Among them, Chongming Line achieves interchange at Shenjiang Road Station and Line 12, and at Jinji Road Station and Line 9 to connect to the city's rail transit network.

After the Chongming line is completed, it will take about half an hour to travel from Jinji Road Station to Yu 'an Road Station, which will help relieve the almost inevitable traffic jam on the Yangtze River tunnel and bridge on holidays, and create another convenient passage between the city and Chongming.
