The China-Russia shield crossing project along the eastern route of the Yangtze River has officially started drilling
BEIJING, May 18 (Xinhua) -- China's tunneling machine "Unblocked" launched smoothly at 10 am on May 18 at the site of the Yangtze River shield crossing project on the eastern route of Russia, marking the official start of drilling of the project. This project is the shield tunneling project for oil and gas pipeline across the river, which has the longest tunneling distance, the deepest burial depth, the highest water pressure, the largest caliber and the most complicated construction environment in the world.
It is understood that the project in the form of tunnel across the Yangtze River, construction conditions are complex, construction is extremely difficult. The excavation of the north bank shaft in Haimen and the installation of the shield machine have been completed in the earlier stage. The excavation of the tunnel will start this time.
With a total length of 10.226 km, this tunnel is the longest shield tunnel with one-way tunneling in the field of oil and gas in the world at present. It is also the first long distance and longest underwater tunnel with single-headed tunneling in China. It belongs to the shield engineering with the highest water pressure and one of the largest gas pipeline diameter projects in the world at present.
The line will be officially launched in July 2020, and the construction will be comprehensively promoted and accelerated in January 2021. It is estimated that the whole line will be completed in 2025. After the completion of the project, the "Russian gas" passing through the three northeastern provinces and the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region can be successfully delivered to the Yangtze River Delta region, thus improving the emergency support capacity of natural gas in the Yangtze River Delta region.
