The world's first large diameter ultra-small turning TBM "Funing" off the production line
On the morning of June 4th, the world's first large diameter (9.53m) ultra-small turning TBM "Funing" was successfully rolled off the production line in Tianjin. The minimum turning radius of the device is 90m, and the maximum longitudinal slope is 9.02%, which is the equipment with the smallest turning radius and the largest longitudinal slope in the world of large diameter TBM.
Funing pumped storage power station is located in Funing District, Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province, with a total installed capacity of 1.2 million kilowatts. After the completion of the power station, it will effectively alleviate the increasingly serious contradiction of peak regulation in northern Hebei power grid, save the consumption of standard coal for thermal power in the region, and improve the quality of atmospheric environment.
"Funing" TBM is a large diameter ultra-small turning TBM tailored by China Railway Equipment for Hebei Funing Pumped-Storage Power Station. The excavation diameter is 9.53m, and the designed horizontal turning radius is 90m. The whole machine has a total length of 85m and a total weight of 1,700 tons. In view of the key construction difficulties such as good surrounding rock integrity, high rock compressive strength, high quartz content and small turning radius, China Railway Equipment adopts targeted innovative design and equipped with mature support system to realize efficient rock breaking, stable tunneling and fast support.
"Funing" has pioneered the development of TBM with large diameter and ultra-small turning radius. Its coming off the production line marks a new breakthrough in the field of large diameter of China Railway Equipment's hard rock tunneling machine with ultra-small turning radius, and provides a new construction scheme for large section tunnel of pumped storage power station.
