Shanghai North Cross Channel project has new progress! The first east section of the shield "jiangong" launched today
Shanghai Chengtou Group said that today, "Jiangong" shield machine completed the start, marking the north cross channel new project ⅶ ushered in a major node, the north cross eastern section of the construction officially entered the shield tunneling stage. Beiheng Passage, with a total length of about 19.1 kilometers, starts from Beihong Road in the west and ends at Neijiang Road in the east. It is a special east-west passage for small buses in the northern part of the central city and is the expansion and supplement of the "three horizontal North Lines". The western section has been officially opened to traffic on June 18, 2021. The eastern section is under construction, about 8.2 kilometers from the ground point of Wen 'an Road to Neijiang Road of Zhoujiazui Road.
As the first tunneling shield section of the eastern section of beiheng Channel, "Jiangong" shield machine will dig eastward after starting from the working well of Fujian North Road and take the lead in receiving the well of Wuzhou Road, with a length of 1538 meters. After wuzhou road working well passes the station, continue to dig to Anguo Road working well receiving, 1288 meters long. The "Jiangong" mud-water balance shield machine in charge of tunneling is one of the largest shield machines in Shanghai at present, with a total length of 125 meters, weight of 3500 tons, shield body length of 14 meters, cutter head excavation diameter of 15.56 meters, and maximum propulsion speed of 50 mm/min.
On May 11, 2021, the shield machine began to be installed in the working well of Fujian North Road, successfully completed the assembly of "Jiangong" on August 25, completed debugging on September 21, and successfully passed the acceptance of shield tunneling conditions on September 24. Until the smooth start of the shield, it has taken a solid step for the construction of the eastern section of beiheng Channel.
The eastern section of the Beiheng Passage is scheduled to be completed and open to traffic in December 2023. Upon completion, it will become a fast new passage from hongqiao hub to Pudong New Area, serving medium and long distance transportation in key northern areas and helping to build an integrated intercity transportation network in the Yangtze River Delta region.
