The Pearl River Estuary tunnel of Shenjiang Railway "Shenjiang No. 1" has been drilled more than 680 meters

At present, the construction of the Pearl River Estuary TUNNEL project of Shenjiang Railway, which is the largest underwater tunnel with the largest depth and the largest water pressure in China, is progressing smoothly in Humen. The domestic shield tunneling machine "Shenjiang 1" has drilled more than 680 meters under the sea.

The Pearl River Estuary Tunnel project of Shenzhen-Jiang Railway is located in Humen, Dongguan. It starts from Dongguan Marina Bay Station and ends at Wanqingsha, Nansha. It is 13.69 kilometers long and runs through the estuary of the Pearl River. The maximum buried depth of the tunnel is 106 meters, which is the largest submerged shield tunnel with the highest water pressure in China. Since its launch in December last year, the Shenjiang 1 has so far drilled more than 680 meters, traversed a variety of complex geology and withstood the test.

As a major transportation project in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Shenzhen-Jiang Railway is a major cross-river intercity channel in the Pearl River Delta region. After completion and opening, it will be conducive to creating a half-hour living circle and economic circle in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and directly promote the coordinated development of East and west Guangdong and the Pearl River Delta region. The Qianhai Shekou Free Trade Zone and Nansha Free Trade Zone will realize half-hour high-speed rail connectivity.
