Nanjing Metro Line 11 first shield machine started smoothly

Yesterday, Nanjing Metro Construction Company received good news: Recently, the first shield tunneling machine "Craftsman" of metro Line 11 started off smoothly at Xingzhi Road Station, the big mile end of the right line of Lvshuiwan Station to Xingzhilu station, after careful inspection of a class of key node conditions of shield tunneling, which marks the metro line 11 project officially entered the section shield construction stage.

The first phase of Line 11 starts at Ma Luwei Station and ends at Puzhou Road Station. The line is 26.7 kilometers long, with 20 stations, 19 underground stations and 1 elevated station.

The cutter head of the "Craftsman" shield tunneling machine, with a diameter of 6.86 meters, is responsible for the excavation of the section from Lushuiwan Station to Xingzhilu Station. The right line of the section has a total length of 954.54m and a total of 638 circles. It runs through Xuexuehe Box culvert and Finance Wan box culvert successively. The whole line is located in the water-rich sand layer of the low floodplain of the Yangtze River, with high groundwater level and large water pressure.

In order to ensure the smooth start of the shield construction, Nanjing Metro will work with all parties involved to plan in advance and make detailed deployment. Experts in the industry have been organized to conduct several rounds of evaluation, optimize the special construction plan and various emergency plans, and carry out emergency drills targeted at the same time, accumulating certain experience for the subsequent project construction.
