The China-Russia East Route natural gas pipeline crossing the Yangtze River tunnel has been completed

The Yangtze River shield Crossing project, a key control project of the China-Russia East Route natural gas pipeline, successfully crossed the Yangtze River after 28 months, and the tunnel was fully completed on December 3.

The China-Russia East Route natural gas pipeline crosses the Yangtze River in th e form of a shield tunnel with a total length of 10.226 kilometers. Three natural gas pipelines with a diameter of 1,422 mm are designed and laid in the tunnel, which is the longest unidirectional shield tunneling distance in the oil and gas field in the world. At the lowest point of the project, the tunnel top elevation is -60.2 m, and the maximum soil cover thickness is 42.5 m, which are the maximum buried depth designed for the shield of oil and gas pipeline. The water pressure of shield construction is 0.73 mpa, which is the highest water pressure shield engineering.

The crossing point of the Yangtze River shield is located at the mouth of the Yangtze River, traversing the first-level waterway of the Yangtze River, anchorage, Yangtze River levee and other structures, close to the existing and planned wharves of Haixin Heavy Industry and China Merchants Heavy Industry. This area is also the Yangtze River Anchovy fishery germplasm resources conservation area, which puts forward higher requirements for construction technology and methods. By adopting environmental protection measures such as mud-water balanced shield and slag discarding sealed shipping, the project builders have made every effort to protect the wetland along the banks and the ecological environment of the Yangtze River.

The Yangtze River crossing project belongs to the China-Russia East Route natural gas Pipeline. After the completion of the southern section of the China-Russia Eastern Route, it will be connected with the first and second pipelines of the West-east gas pipeline. The completion of the Yangtze River shield crossing tunnel has created necessary conditions for the early completion of the China-Russia Eastern Route.
