14 meter class super diameter mud balanced shield machine will pass through Baiyun airport to build high-speed rail
Baiyun Pioneer, China's first 14m-class super-diameter mud-water balancing shield machine, rolled off the assembly line in Hangzhou on March 3. The shield will be used in the construction of the T3 rail transit hub at Baiyun Airport and the Guangzhou-Zhuhai-Macao high-speed railway.
As the first "two high-speed railway and two intercity" hub project in China, the smooth construction of the rail transit reservation project of T3 transport hub of Baiyun Airport is of great significance for connecting Baiyun Airport with the central city of Guangzhou and the Pearl River Delta City group, further enhancing the competitiveness of Guangzhou as an international aviation hub, and promoting the high-quality development of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Baiyun Pioneer, with a diameter of 14.31 meters and a total length of about 115 meters, weighs more than 3,600 tons and has a maximum thrust of 19,396 tons, will be used for the construction of Guangzhou-Zhuhai-Macao high-speed railway underpass Baiyun Airport T3 rail transit hub tunnel. It is the first large-diameter mud-water balancing shield machine used for high-speed railway underpass airport project in China.
The excavation section of "Baiyun Pioneer" is 1,476 meters long, which is the key line of the whole project. In this area, karst development is strong, geological conditions are complicated, and parts of the excavation section are soft at the top and hard at the bottom. In the process of shield tunneling, it is necessary to underpass the airport flight area, side pass the airport oil depot and FBO base service building, which requires very high ground settlement and brings great challenges to shield construction.
In view of the above construction difficulties, the tailor-made "Baiyun Pioneer" oversized diameter mud-water balancing shield machine optimized the layout of the front and side scour openings at the Angle of the cutter head center scour main beam. The machine is equipped with advanced technology systems such as atmospheric pressure tool change cutter head, retractable main drive, real-time monitoring of tool condition, slag crushing treatment outside the warehouse, double direct discharge pipe of screw machine, online wear detection of mud pipe, visualization imaging, etc., which not only improves the adaptability, reliability and safety of shield machine, but also reduces engineering risks under complex working conditions. It provides a strong guarantee for the smooth construction of the project.
