7.2 Kilometres of two seven tunnel construction is imminent
New progress has been made in the construction of the Erqi Tunnel, which has received much attention from the public. The "Construction Project Site Selection Opinion" of the Erqi Tunnel(Phase I) project is being publicized. The project site is from the west of Lake Avenue to the east of Hongdu North Avenue. The land area is about 562 acres. The Erqi Tunnel is positioned as the main road of the city. The first phase of the project is the Huangjiahu section(Xiangjiang intersection) to the Hongdu Avenue section. The route is to Bihu Avenue-Jinjiang Road-Minjiang Road-Erqi North Road. The total length is about 7.2 kilometers.
It is understood that the Erqi Tunnel is positioned as the main road of the city. The first phase of the project is the Huangjiahu section(Xiangjiang intersection) to the Hongdu Avenue section, and the route is to Bihu Avenue-Jinjiang Road-Minjiang-Erqi North Road. The total length is about 7.2 kilometers. Among them, the main line from the North section of Huangjiahu to Fenghe Avenue is elevated and is about 1.9 kilometers long; The main line from Fenghe Avenue to Qingshan South Road is in the form of a tunnel, which is about 4.1 kilometers long; Castle Peak South Road to Hongdu Avenue is mainly a ground road(the tunnel passes through the Beijing-Kowloon Railway) and is about 1.2 kilometers long.
There are 4 pairs of upper and lower ramps across the Erqi Tunnel, which are located on the north side of Xiangjiang Road, on the West side of Fenghe Avenue, on the East side of Fenghe Avenue, and on the East side of Sanjing Road. There are a total of 7 major nodes along the line, including 2 full-interchange interchanges(Yangtze Island is a reserved node), 4 partial interchanges, and 1 ground level interchanges. The Erqi Tunnel is the second cross-river tunnel in Nanchang City following the Honggu Tunnel that has been opened and operated. It is also the eighth cross-river channel in the central city of Nanchang City.
