On the morning of January 12, with the breaking of the "Struggle No. 2" shield tunneling machine, the right line of the Guzhen Road Station - shield tunneling section of the advance section of Hefei Xinqiao Airport Line S1 was successfully broken through, marking the first double penetration of the area in the whole line, and the key progress of the project construction.

The underground shield tunnel of S1 Line of Xinqiao Airport is the largest tunnel with an outer diameter of 6.7m in Hefei. Guzhen Road Station - Shield shaft section of the first section of the project is constructed by Anhui Luqiao. The left line tunnel is 1760.792 meters long, and the right line tunnel is 1767.587 meters long. The soil covering depth of the tunnel is about 9.17-23.05 meters, mainly through clay, silt, silty sand, strongly weathered sandstone and moderately weathered sandstone stratum.

According to reports, the project uses two 6.98 meters diameter of the shield machine excavation operation, to overcome the shield with pressure to open the warehouse to change the knife, three times under the South Feihe River, across all kinds of risk sources and other heavy and difficult problems, "the section double line respectively three times under the South Feihe River, and the river bottom minimum vertical net distance only 8.09m, the construction technology is difficult, the risk is large, the vast number of builders to overcome great difficulties."

The reporter learned that Hefei Xinqiao Airport Line S1 starts from Xinqiao Industrial Park, through Xinqiao International Airport, Gangji to Wulitun Station and other important stations with a large flow of people, superior geographical location, the whole line is 47.5 kilometers long, with 14 stations, and the design speed of the line is 120 km/h. After the completion of the project, the new Hefei West Railway Station will only take more than 20 minutes to Xinqiao Airport, which provides great convenience for citizens to travel, and is of great significance for economic exchanges, optimizing the urban spatial layout, promoting the integrated development of the city, and supporting the higher-quality integrated development of Hefei metropolitan area.
