The right line of Wuhu Chengnan River Crossing Tunnel reaches the south bank of the Yangtze River

At 10 am on April 15, with the formal completion of the assembly of the 1485 ring pipe piece, the right line shield machine "Wanjiang Struggle" of Wuhu Chengnan Crossing River Tunnel successfully crossed the bottom of the Yangtze River channel and arrived at the south bank of the Yangtze River, and the "800li Wanjiang First Tunnel" ushered in another major node.

Wuhu Chengnan River Crossing tunnel is 5.96 km long, and two large 15.07 meter diameter shield machines are used to drive from the north of the river to the south of the river. The tunnel traverses dozens of strata and has extremely complex geological conditions.

In order to solve the geological problems encountered in the process of excavation, the construction team has held one academician expert meeting, more than 40 internal and external expert meetings, the use of scientific and technological means to break the game, put forward more than 30 kinds of scientific solutions, and combined with the actual site repeated tests and demonstration. During the period, a series of measures were taken to clean the cutter head mud cake, optimize the driving parameters, transform the cutter head, optimize the tool layout, and strengthen the river patrol, and successfully overcome the two construction difficulties of crossing the soft upper and hard and high viscosity complex formation and fault zone.

Since the start of the right line shield machine, the construction team has carried out nearly 100 targeted modifications to the equipment, adopted more than 20 key core technologies, replaced more than 1730 tools in total, pressed into the warehouse more than 1050 times in the deepest 75 meters of the river bottom, cleaned more than 300 cubic meters of mud cake, and ensured the safe and smooth excavation of the shield machine.

Up to now, a total of 5,556 meters of double-track tunnels have been excavated, accounting for 70.11% of the total length of shield tunnels. "Wanjiang Struggle" shield machine from the tunnel is still 1023.4 meters away, more than 500 construction personnel are working day and night, to the tunnel through the goal of hard sprint.
