Nanjing Metro Line 4 phase II crossing the river shield machine has entered the countdown

Recently, the second phase of Line 4 crossing the river shield machine "New Journey" came out of the good news, the last part of the shield machine - the shield tail has arrived at the construction site, marking the assembly stage of the shield is about to be completed, and the shield machine has entered the countdown stage.

It is understood that the length of the large shield across the river is 120 meters, and the total weight is 2100 tons, which is twice the weight of the ordinary shield machine. After the assembly is completed, the shield machine will start from the middle air shaft of the river center and excavate to the north of the river.

From the middle air shaft to Jiangbei Citizen Center station shield section, the total length of the line is 3062 meters, designed as a single-hole double-line tunnel. When the shield machine started in Jiangxinzhou, the top soil cover was 26.5 meters thick. When it crossed the Yangtze River, the deepest subway line in the Yangtze River was 68 meters below the river.

As of May 2024, all four stations and intermediate wind Wells have been started, and three stations and intermediate wind Wells have completed the envelope and main structure. Six shield tunnels were launched and connected.
