Shanghai Metro Airport Link Line (under construction) connects Pudong International Airport and Hongqiao Hub

The construction of Shanghai's first new municipal railway project, the airport link, is in full swing. Xiao Tong learned from Shanghai Shentie Investment Co., LTD., a few days ago, the airport link line successfully completed the step by step speed test, reaching the test target speed of 176 km/h, and successfully completed the phased goal of the joint test work.

The airport link is 68.6 kilometers long, passing through Minhang, Xuhui and Pudong New Area three administrative districts, with a total of nine stations, and the maximum speed of trains can reach 160 kilometers per hour.

After the completion of the project, the running time between the two integrated transportation hubs of Hongqiao and Pudong can be controlled within about 40 minutes, and the transfer can be realized with a number of existing and under construction rail transit, so as to facilitate the travel of citizens and passengers along the line. At the same time, it will further enhance the radiation role of Pudong and Hongqiao integrated transportation hubs in the Yangtze River Delta region, serve the Yangtze River Delta city cluster, and provide strong support for improving Shanghai's global urban level and core competitiveness, and implementing the national strategy for the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta.
