On the morning of June 16th, the shield tunneling machine "Gongfu 2" smashed the ground and set off smoothly at the right line of Jinchu Street Station. This marks the realization of dual tunneling of Suzhou Metro Line 6, which speeds up the tunneling of shield of Line 6 again.

The 14m-class super-large diameter mud-water balanced shield, independently developed by Shanghai Tunnel Engineering Co., LTD, is used for the construction of Shanghai Municipal Airport's liaison line. With a total length of about 92m, the shield can meet the tunneling requirements of the minimum horizontal curve radius of 450m. The rear part is equipped with a 3-section integrated frame, which adopts the design of landing wheel, which can deal with many complicated working conditions such as deep burial depth and small turning radius.
