On the afternoon of October 16th, the right line tunnel of Shenzhen Metro Line 16 was successfully opened as the cutter head of shield tunneling machine broke through the earth. It is also the 49th single-line interval tunnel to be safely transfixed, and only one interval remains untransfixed.

After leaving Longcheng Middle Road station, the longlong section line runs east-west along Longping East Road, passes shengping Road, Bixin Road, passes longgang River, and enters Longping Station along Longping East Road southeast. The length of the right line is about 1216.74m, and the buried depth of the tunnel is 9-21.2m.

The area between the complex geological and hydrological conditions, through the karst development area of shield tunneling in continuous, uneven soft compound formation, the rich underground water, water permeability and water content, way below the line is very dense and irregular distribution, rain water, sewage, gas pipeline are shallow buried depth, large pipe diameter, the serious influence of shield construction progress, increase the risk of a project safety level.

Metro Line 16 leads from Dayun Station and is laid along Longgang Avenue, Huangge Road and Longping Road, ending at Tianxin Station. The total length of the line is about 29.2km, with 24 stations, including 10 transfer stations, one parking lot and one vehicle depot.

The line adopts automatic operation mode, with 4 track-laying bases and 12 auxiliary track-laying bases. The total length of the railway line is about 86 kilometers, and it is expected to complete the railway line by the end of 2021.

Up to now, 100 percent of stations have been capped and 99.5 percent of all sections have been completed. 55% of enclosure structure, 27% of earthwork excavation, 14% of main body and 64% of masonry of decoration engineering have been completed. Among them, 26338m of the whole track laying base has been completed, accounting for 41.6%.

Among them, 49 of the 50 single-line sections have been connected, and 23 of the 23 stations have been capped.
